Croquade Heart Waffle Plate (M006)

Hugely popular in Scandinavia and Germany, this waffle’s star never fades. Also known as the Cupidon Waffle, it is also very popular around Valentine’s Day – what could be more romantic than declaring your love with a waffle?

This waffle has become an institution in Belgium thanks to the "Moeder Siska Marie Siska" tearoom in Knokke Heist, which has turned it into a phenomenal success. People come from all over the world to eat a waffle at Siska’s!

In 1882 on a visit to Amsterdam, Mother Siska was intrigued by a painting of a waffle maker made from four molds in a heart shape. Back at home, she has a five-heart waffle maker made by her brother-in-law who was a blacksmith in De Pinte in West Flanders (Belgium). It was the beginning of a great saga!
